Meet Julia Pendery:

Julia is an appellate attorney and has represented clients for more than 35 years in most of the appellate courts in Texas and the federal Fifth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals.  She enjoys taking on complex cases and also writes amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs for industry groups, businesses, and individuals who are interested in important Texas Supreme Court cases, but who are not direct parties to the case.

Julia has developed a particular expertise for representing parties in fighting adverse or default judgments and seeking to have those judgments vacated or set aside.

In the 1990s, Julia’s work with her family’s ranch corporation ultimately led her into representation of urban commercial and rural agricultural landowners in eminent domain proceedings in North Texas.  Her experience as a Special Commissioner appointed by a County Court at Law to assess value in condemnation proceedings gives her an advantage in representing clients before panels of Special Commissioners.

Julia is a graduate of the SMU Dedman School of Law and is Board Certified in appellate practice.  When she isn’t drafting and editing briefs, she creates jewelry items using beads and crystals purchased during her many travel experiences.
