Spotlight: 2009 Rising Stars Honorees Saluted: Jim Chester and Jason Mathis
March 2008 -- C&T Salutes its 2009 Rising Stars Honorees
Cowles & Thompson attorneys Jim Chester and Jason Mathis have earned spots on the 2009 Texas Rising Stars listing of the state’s top up-and-coming attorneys.
Jim is head of the firm’s Intellectual Property and International Business & Trade Practice Groups, and a member of the firm’s Corporate and Business Practice Group. He counsels clients regarding business formation and transactions, intellectual property protection & licensing, and international business & trade legal matters.
Jason is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Municipal, Public Law & Land Use Practice Groups, where he represents clients in contract disputes, premises liability, complex litigation, labor and employment law, and municipal and public law.
Fewer than 2.5 percent of all Texas attorneys are recognized in the Rising Stars listing, which appears in the April 2009 issue of Texas Monthly. To compile the list, more than 70,000 attorneys from across the state were asked to nominate the top young lawyers in Texas.
