David A. Johnson is a shareholder in the Tort and Insurance and the Commercial Litigation Practice Groups of Cowles & Thompson. Mr. Johnson's practice areas include product liability defense, premises liability litigation, labor and employment litigation, healthcare litigation, and commercial and complex business litigation.

David is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. He was elected as an Associate member of the Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Court for 2007-2008.
David received his B.S. degree from Texas A&M University in 1998 and his J.D. decree, cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2001. He was the Student Writing Editor for the Texas Tech Law Review from 2000-2001, a member of Phi Delta Phi from 1999-2001, received the Dean's Executive Award in 2001, and received the Texas Tech Law Review Scribe's Award in 2001. He has authored One Step Forward, Two Steps Back: Construction of Restrictive Covenants After the Implementation of Section 202.003 of the Texas Property Code, which was published in Volume 32, Number 2 of the Texas Tech Law Review. Along with Greg Lensing, David also co-authored the Products Liability Update: April 2003, presented at Cowles & Thompson's Tort Litigation Update held in April, 2003.
David was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2001, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
