Brian Farrington settles wage dispute

Recently a Houston-area employer was investigated by the Wage and Hour Division of the U. S. Department of Labor (“DOL”). DOL told the employer it was in violation of the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), the federal minimum wage and overtime law, and owed in excess of $500,000 in back wages. The company’s local counsel called in Brian Farrington of Cowles and Thompson. Brian got the case settled for $45.00. Needless to say, the client and the local attorney were very happy with the outcome!
