Workers’ compensation liability is a reality for every employer, no matter the type of business. Maintaining a successful enterprise requires minimizing workers’ compensation liabilities through efficient handling of compensable claims, defense of non-compensable claims and pursuit of employees making fraudulent claims.
C&T has unparalleled experience in the handling of workers’ compensation hearings and trials. In addition to providing representation at the local field offices of the Division of Workers’ Compensation throughout the state and at the Appeals Panel Level, C&T litigates judicial review appeals of the DWC’s administrative decisions in the state court system, including all county, district and appellate courts. C&T also represents insurance companies and third-party administrators in protecting and recovering subrogation liens during third-party litigation.
Types of matters handled for clients:
- Working with clients on best strategies to defend claims
- Counseling with clients to prevent future disputes, as well as manage employees during existing disputes
- Benefits Review Conferences
- Contested Case Hearings
- Appeals to the DWC Appeals Panel
- State court system
Prevention and Management
The best way to reduce workers’ compensation premiums is to reduce the number of claims altogether. C&T strategically works with employers to analyze areas where employee safety can be improved to avoid claims and provides total representation from date of injury to final appeal.
