  • Jonathan Spigel prepares Proportionate Responsibility paper
    February 2010

    Jonathan Spigel, along with former Cowles & Thompson Senior Counsel Greg Lensing, prepared the discussion of the rules covering proportionate responsibility and settlement credits in Texas, the first two sections of the paper, which also include several quizzes to test your knowledge of the subject.  The last section of the paper addresses Chapter 82 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, otherwise known as the product manufacturer's duty to indemnify "innocent" retailers, and recent cases interpreting this statute.  New Cowles & Thompson Shareholder Byron Henry assisted with updating some of the cases in each section of the paper.
