Sim Israeloff Receives Municipal Excellence Award

On October 28, 2004, Sim Israeloff, in his capacity as mayor of Fairview, Texas, received a 2004 Municipal Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal League for excellence in public safety. Fairview was selected as the winner among municipalities of under 25,000 in population, which comprise 976 of the league's 1075 member cities. The award cited the town's commitment to excellence in its fire department, police department and ambulance services, and commended Fairview's innovative use of scarce resources, inter-local agreements with other jurisdictions, leading edge technology, and a remarkable level of support from the community.
