Sim Israeloff Wins Defense Verdict in Patent Infringement Case
Jun 30, 2006 ⋅ Category: GTL
On June 30, 2006, a federal jury in Marshall, Texas found that two California companies did not infringe the plaintiff's patents on anti-theft tags and antennas. The Plaintiff alleged that products made by the firm's clients infringed three patents on anti-shoplifting tags, antennas, and digital filters, and sought an injunction and damages for lost profits. The jury found the patents were valid, but were not infringed by any of the defendants' products. This is reportedly the first defense jury verdict in a patent case in the Eastern District of Texas, at least since 1999. Sim Israeloff served as Co-Counsel for the Defendants.
