Chuck Green and Jeanne Royston won a defense verdict in Smith County, Texas on October 18, 2006. The firm's client was a major national rental car company, and the plaintiff was an employee of that company. He was charged with felony theft of a rental vehicle and spent 84 days in jail. When the theft charges were ultimately dismissed, the employee sued for malicious prosecution, false imprisonment and defamation. After trial in Smith County's 7th District Court, the jury decided the case in favor of the rental car company, finding no malicious prosecution, false imprisonment or defamation.
