Mike Northrup successfully defended a summary judgment in a legal malpractice action. The Plaintiff had contended the Defendant charged unconscionable legal fees and failed to advise him he would have to pay fees when he cashed in an IRA. Mr. Northrup successfully secured a summary judgment against both of the Plaintiff's claims. The court of appeals affirmed the summary judgment because it determined that the judgment was supported by multiple, independent grounds and the Plaintiff had failed to address all grounds supporting the judgment in his appellate briefs.
