December 1, 2019 (Dallas, TX) — Cowles Thompson Associate Attorney, Helen Hutton Emerson, was recently elected to a fourth term as a Director with the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL).  She will also continue as Co-Chair of the DAYL  Judicial Internship Committee, and has been a member of DAYL since 2012.


Helen practices in the areas of civil litigation and civil appeals, with a primary focus in insurance defense and commercial disputes.  Previously, she served as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Douglas S. Lang, Fifth District Court of Appeals of Texas, 2014-15 and as a judicial intern for the Honorable John R. Roach, Jr., 296th Judicial District Court, 2012. 

In addition to DAYL, Helen is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the William “Mac” Taylor American Inn of Court.  She received her B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Economics and Finance, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University and her J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
