Dallas, TX (March 9, 2021) –– Cowles & Thompson, P.C. is proud to announce that Senior Counsel, Helen Emerson, was selected by Thomson Reuters® for inclusion to its list of 2021 “Rising Stars.” Helen has built her career primarily in civil litigation and civil appeals. She served as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Douglas S. Lang, Fifth District Court of Appeals of Texas, 2014-15 and as a judicial intern for the Honorable John R. Roach, Jr., 296th Judicial District Court, 2012. Helen is a cum laude graduate of the SMU Dedman School of Law and a long-time member of the Board for the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. 2021 marks her second year as a Rising Star.
Eligibility
While up to 5% of the lawyers in each state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list. Candidates must be either 40 years old (or younger), or in practice for 10 years or fewer. All attorneys first go through the patented Super Lawyers selection process. Those who are not selected to the Super Lawyers list, but who meet either one of the Rising Stars eligibility requirements, then go through the Rising Stars selection process.
