Dallas, TX (May 3, 2021) – Cowles Thompson Associate, Morgan Crider, recently achieved a successful outcome for her client – which was also her first courtroom success.
Morgan represented a Cowles Thompson client Real Estate Property Management Company whose interests include an apartment complex affected by the 2021 Texas ice storm. A tenant had filed for relief on damages and to be released from his lease, arguing inaction on the part of our client regarding plumbing issues after the storm. However, Morgan demonstrated that the apartment management had performed due diligence in keeping tenants informed during the repair process, resulting ultimately in a judgment for our client and a no-damages, take-nothing judgment against the plaintiff.
Morgan joined Cowles Thompson earlier this year where she is a member of the Tort Litigation practice, and this recent achievement marks her first courtroom appearance on behalf of a client. She is a 2020 graduate of the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, where she served as Notes Editor for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review.
