Cowles Thompson congratulates Shareholders Julie Aguilar and Helen Emerson who were recently named by Thomson Reuters® to the 2024 list of Rising Stars®.
Julie is a Shareholder in our Family Law practice. She is a trial lawyer with proven experience in the courtroom. Having tried countless hearings and trials in Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, and surrounding counties, she has the knowledge and skill that can only be obtained inside the courtroom. With knowledge of and practical experience in handling complex family law matters, ranging from divorce proceedings, child custody matters, complex property division, and numerous other family law matters, she effectively advocates for her clients in and out of the courtroom.
Helen Emerson is a Shareholder, practicing primarily in the areas of civil litigation and civil appeals. She served as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Douglas S. Lang, Fifth District Court of Appeals of Texas, 2014-15 and as a judicial intern for the Honorable John R. Roach, Jr., 296th Judicial District Court, 2012.
Both Julie and Helen are cum laude graduates of the SMU Dedman School of Law.
